You see, a woman is a like a shoe.

You see, a woman is a like a sole. That’s her solid base. She can be young and smooth if not completely untouched. She can be older and a bit scarred if not completely worn through. That’s the beauty of her, the beauty of the story her sole can tell you. Despite the immaculate or scuffed base she stands on, she still has the strength to keep on walking forward.

You see, a woman is like a heel. That’s her elongated spine. It holds her up and keeps her there whether she feels insecure or confidently fine. She can be stiletto thin, or a wedge bit wider. That’s the beauty of her, the beauty of the story her heel can tell you. Despite the difference in size or the surface area she makes her mark on her ground beneath her, she still has the strength to keep on walking forward.

You see, a woman is like a vamp. That’s her casing skin. It is her shield she was born with and forms a colossal part of her identity. Black, white, brown or light beige. That’s the beauty of her, the beauty of the story her skin can tell you. Because despite the intensity of the crevices of her leather from countless days under the African sun, she still has the strength to keep on walking forward.

You see, a woman is like a tongue. That’s her inner personality. You can’t always see it initially, but you can guarantee after a few movements to a comfortable position, it will silently peek through. That’s the beauty of her, the beauty of the story her tongue can tell you. Because despite how much fear, pain, rawness or discomfort she holds within herself, she still has the strength to keep on walking forward.

You see, a woman is like a lace. That’s her golden thread. You’ll start noticing small things about her that make her who she is. Loose ends here and there that pierce through different parts of her. Once held onto and pulled ever so lightly and tight, everything draws together perfectly. It is at this very moment, you can witness the whole her. That’s the beauty of the story, the beauty of the story her laces can tell you. Despite the knots, the tears and the occasional breaks, every woman has the strength to keep walking forward.
